"If you had told me two years ago that I was going to give up the career I’d enjoyed for over 25 years and make robots, I’d have thought you were nuts. And then, I’d probably say, “Hey! What kind of robots? That sounds really cool!”
Welcome to our upside down economic times when lost jobs lead to new careers. Amy's twin loves of flea markets and robots (shopping and creating art) has coalesced into turning scrap into robots bringing her to the top art fairs in the country. Saturdays take her to the markets, then she returns home with a pile of junk that becomes a body or head. She starts adding and subtracting stuff until it just looks “right”. This can take minutes, or it can take months, and there are usually several at this stage.
