Kristy Carnes did you find out how to contact the various shows to get into the shows I am in the same boat!
Posted by: Carly | March 05, 2008 at 05:05 PM
I would like to know how to apply and be accepted for the jury of each event. Also to know of requirements per location. Some have mentioned contacting the Chamber of Commerce in each location. Any other suggestions?
Thank you for your assistance.
Karen

As webmaster and publisher here I just saw your comments. There are lots of places to find art fairs. Since you are already on this site I suggest you look over the list of events, find the ones that are of interest to you, "google" their names and visit their websites. This is a pretty select list of art fairs but far from exhaustive.
Other sources: Sunshine Artist magazine, FestivalNetworkOnline, Crafts Report, Art Fair SourceBook...
Posted by: Constance Mettler | May 10, 2008 at 03:28 PM
Please read the post above, Karen. Additionally, the Chamber of Commerce is a good source. Also, each state has an arts council (I believe) and many of them list art fairs in their states and some even publish a list. I know Ohio does.
Also, for a little more info on this topic you can buy my ebook listed at the top of the page. It has lots of tips for getting started and is a helpful primer.

Hi
My church is hosting a craft show in Nov. Am I able to advertise on this site?
Thanks
Posted by: char | May 29, 2008 at 07:15 PM
The "Hands On" show at the IX-Center in Cleveland, Ohio is November 14-16th not December 13 & 14 as posted here on this site.

I am hosting a craft show in Columbus in May. I would like to post a call for entries or a show listing on your site, but I cannot figure out how. Help!
www.nymcraftshow.com
Posted by: Aimee | September 05, 2008 at 12:50 PM
There are several ways to post a call for entries. The least expensive is a listing on the call for entries page of the website: $45.
I also have a email newsletter that goes out to over 3200 artist subscribers, some of the old pros as well as the newbies in the business who are looking to get started. The price for this is: $165 for one mailing, or $190 to do it twice. Once when you open for applications and the second time when it is near your deadline.
This includes a:
newsletter
listing on website
story on the blog, ArtFairInsider.com
live link to your event on the Calendar
How does this sound to you? Best of luck with your new event!
Posted by: Constance Mettler | September 05, 2008 at 02:14 PM
I am in the same boat as Kristy. I was wondering how I would go about contacting the art show organizers so that I might be able to submit my art work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jeremiah,
1. look at the list of art fairs on this calendar
2. find the ones that appeal to you
3. google the name of that event

I purchased a Print called "Hudson Village Green" by Kinley Shogren. It is signed and numbered (88/300) and it has a certificate for it receiving the "Presidents Award". The words "The Presidents Award 1987, Westfield Companies". The Print is dated 1983. I can't find anything on this print. I did find that Kinley Shogren did many paintings of boats/ships but nothing on this print. Any idea where I can find some info on it or get an estimated value? It is beautifully matted and framed. Thanks you for any assistance you may provide.

Hello Bill, Kinely Shogren is a painter known for rural scenes and maritime images of the Great Lakes. He lived from 1924 to 1991. The Art Fair Calendar doesn't have the capability to appraise the value of older pieces of art. I am not sure where to direct you but you may want to contact an Art Museum. They might be better able to direct you to find the answers you are looking for.

Please fix the date for art-a-palooza in GreenOhio. You have Aug. 2, but the date is really Aug. 25.

Thank you, Ellen, for the Art-a-palooza date. I have corrected the date on the calendar. I am in the process right now of updating the calendar and have not gotten that far yet into the 2012 year. Of course, we always appreciate it when shows send us their new dates. Thanks again,
